North East, PA (August 29, 2014): This Saturday will showcase A Night at the Races presented by Lictus Oil & Propane featuring a 40-lap feature race for the NASCAR Street Stocks plus Lake Erie Speedway wants to know what everyone did this summer. Fans may bring a ticket stub from any other event that they attended this summer and show it at the Lake Erie Speedway Box Office to receive up to six (6) FREE General Admission tickets for the Saturday, August 30th event. For example, fans can bring tickets from the zoo, fair, another speedway, the movies, a baseball game, or anywhere else and show them to receive the FREE tickets for this Saturday’s event.
Only two chances remain for any driver in the NASCAR Street Stock division to defeat Dave Krawczyk, undefeated in ten weeks of racing! In compiling his amazing record, Krawczyk has built an unbeatable 150-point lead. As a result of his dominance, a bounty has been offered to any competitor who can take the checkers ahead of him. The 'bounty' is $200 for this week with $100 scheduled to be added if no one claims it. The only limit is that no driver may "take out" or intentionally wreck Krawczyk on the way to the win. The drivers with the best chance to unseat Krawczyk would be current second place runner Russ Conti and third running Ed Hall. The competitors have extra laps to accomplish their task with forty laps being the scheduled distance for this event. Will an “outsider” come in and stop the streak? Who, if anyone, can pry loose Krawczyk's grip on the keys to Victory Lane?
With six victories this season, including both features run last week, Randy Culver leads the Plyler Overhead Door Modifieds Division by an impressive 54 points over Eric McCray, with one feature win this season. Chris Briggs is currently third. Can Culver lock up the championship early?
Jeff Dunfee III, although without a win this season, leads the U.S. Legend Cars Division in the year-long points chase. Four-time winner Brandon DeBrakeleer is second, only thirteen points back. Another 39-points down is Carl Vilardo IV, who led by just one point only two weeks ago. Things can change very quickly when mechanical issues develop. Can Dunfee III capture a win? Can he win the title without a feature win? Or will DeBrakeleer, dominating this season in the win column, overtake him in the final stretch? Or will Vilardo IV come roaring back with a flourish to the win in the homestretch?
Jeff Breads, with three feature wins this season, holds a 125-point edge over winless Brandon Huffman in the NASCAR Compact Division points chase. Bob Moore, also winless, is currently third, another 33-points in arrears. The season's big winner has been Jim Tobin, with six wins. Tobin is currently fourth, eight points behind Moore. Will Breads add to his win total as he drives to the championship?
The closest points chase is in the INEX Bandoleros Division where the brothers Donald and Daniel Buell are separated by a mere six markers with 2013 champion Matt Mead only 13-points behind second running Daniel. Donald Buell, the leader, has three wins while his brother Daniel, running second, has only two trips to the Winner's Circle. Mead has four wins in this season that will apparently go to the last lap of the final event. Will these three competitors dice right to the last laps? Who will prevail in this “too close to call” title chase?
Following the racing entertainment a fireworks display will be presented on the backstretch.
