Sky Lantern Festival presented by Plyler Entry Systems and Romolo Chocolates- Canceled

Lake Erie Speedway forced to cancel two other events

Lake Erie Speedway Driven By Pro Waste announces the cancellation of two events, Sky Lantern Festival presented by Plyler Entry Systems and Romolo Chocolates (August 22nd) as well as the Wine, Brews, Spirits, Food Truck Festival (August 29th).

“We are very disappointed that we are forced to cancel these two amazing events,” stated General Manager AJ Moore. This hard decision comes from the new information recently given to our venue from the Pennsylvania Governor’s new targeted mitigation order, the Erie County Health Department, and the PLCB. “We understand the health department and the PLCB were just doing their jobs, but it is frustrating,” Moore said. Nontraditional events that are not motorsports (where our venue is allowed 50 percent capacity) are capped at 250 people including staff. “This confusion comes from above the health department and the PLCB,” stated Moore.

If you purchased tickets or paid vendor fees to either of these two events you will be eligible for a refund. If you have any questions/concerns please reach out to AJ Moore by phone at 814-725-3303 or amoore@lakeeriespeedway.com.

Tickets to our future events can be purchased on our Facebook page or at www.lakeeriespeedway.com.

Lake Erie Speedway Sky Lantern Festival– AUGUST 22, 2020

Lake Erie Speedway Sky Lantern Festival presented by Plyler Entry Systems and Romolo Chocolates is based around the Chinese Paper Lantern. The locally promoted event will take place on Saturday, August 22nd. The gates will open at 5pm with the launch taking place around dusk. Enjoy food, music, princesses, Star Wars Troopers, face painters, s’mores (Romolo Chocolates), balloon artists, inflatable bounce houses, foam pit, fire dancers, and more while relaxing with family and friends!

Lake Erie Speedway Driven By Pro Waste Services Inc. takes pride in the events that we host and put on. We want the event to go as smooth as possible. The wind will dictate whether we launch or not. All Lanterns are biodegradable, eco-friendly, non-flammable so this aides in protection of our participants and the environment. Our lanterns do not have any metal wiring or material that will harm the environment. We will not allow outside lanterns through the gates to keep non eco-friendly lanterns from being launched. We will announce the launch time for all the lanterns. No one should launch before this time. This is an amazing sight and we want everyone to participate in it.

As a locally owned venue we will take the necessary steps to cleanup the surrounding area after the launch of the lanterns. The vast majority of the lanterns will only go a 1/4 mile radius of our venue. The lanterns we use are eco friendly and biodegradable so in the rare chance we miss a lantern they are designed to disintegrate quickly. If you would like us to come pick them up if you find them call 814-725-3303.
