Mid-Summer Recap, Fall Plans & August Action!

This summer we’ve been packing the track schedule with lots of great racing and events to get you and the family out of the house and into the action!

From Summer MatsErie to Christmas in July and of course, the crowd favorite, the Steak Cookoff Association Competition at The Great Lakes Taste of Summer Festival presented by PNC Bank. This summer has been a great one so far!

In July we hosted The Great Lakes Cars and Coffee event with proceeds from admission being donated to the Parkinson’s Partners of NW PA and the Alzheimer’s Association of NW PA. Thank you to all who came out and supported this event! We are so grateful for your contribution and hope to continue supporting these great causes with future events. We were able to raise ($417.50 for each organization) for members of our community who benefit from the services offered by these awesome organizations.

We’re halfway through the summer with plans to keep the good times going as we head into August. To kick off the last month of summer fun, Crash-A-Rama is returning to Lake Erie Speedway for round 2 on August 5th!

Crash-A-Rama is known as “the wildest show on wheels” and for good reason, but would you believe us if we said this year’s event is even wilder with the addition of The Bone Shaker Jet Truck?! This 18,000hp, jet-powered, semi-truck will shake fans right out of their seats while putting on the most insane inferno fire show in the country!

Before you witness the mind-blowing Bone Shaker Jet Truck barrel down the track, we’ll have a full lineup of rowdy destruction. You’ll get to watch the always unpredictable School Bus Figure 8 Races, Reverse Chain Race, Skidd Carz, fireworks and so much more! Check our website for the full schedule with a breakdown of events. As a reminder, we also have the PAOHNY Drift clinic running on August 13th. This event is for beginners and Class C/B drivers who have not tandemed before. Spaces are limited and fill up quickly. If you’re looking for a chance to improve your drifting skills this is for you. Drift clinics are a closed session, and are not open to the public. Register to save your spot, and review the rules/regulations on our website.

Looking ahead, we only have a few, full-weekend events left before the 2023 season comes to an end. Catch the last round of the Great Lakes Pro-Am Series presented by Moty's Lubricants, set up camp with your crew, and get those last drift laps in before build season begins at Fall MatsErie. Join us at the track from September 1-3 for 3 full days of drifting action. Tickets go on sale August 4th so mark your calendars, set an alarm, or sign up to be notified on our website.

Lastly, we have the 73rd Annual Race of Champions Weekend taking place September 15-17. It's never a dull moment at ROC with several racing series running all weekend long from the ROC Modifieds, Late Models, Super Stock and Four Cylinder Dash Series to TQ Midget and Sportsman Modified series, there's something for everyone!
